I am passionate about helping people who are looking for support and a compassionate space to share, heal and discover ways to find balance, peace and emotional and physical wellbeing.
My therapeutic approach is Holistic, which means that I work with you to look at how your mental, physical and emotional systems are interconnected and impact on one another. We work through presenting issues and concerns as well as identifying the underlying causes of the issue, to cultivate meaningful change and a deeper understanding of yourself.
I draw on evidence based theories and techniques including; ACT, Humanistic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Psychodynamic Therapy, Somatic Therapy as well as elements of yoga, such as breath work, mindfulness and gentle movement.
Since becoming a counsellor in 2004, I have within the Community Services, and Tertiary Education sectors supporting teens and adults, with issues such as: anxiety, isolation, depression and stress management.
After experiencing the benefits of yoga firsthand, I undertook yoga teacher training in 2012. Since then, I have enjoyed teaching: mums and bubs, yin, restorative, vinyasa, meditation and trauma sensitive classes. Most recently, I co- ran a business, providing school based yoga classes for kindy age children, through to teens.
Working as a Counsellor and Yoga Teacher and yoga, I have gained insight into the interconnection between thoughts and emotions and how they manifest in the body. As a result of our life experiences we develop coping mechanisms to deal with life challenges. As a result many of us loose connection with our ourselves.
My goal is to help people reconnect and gain insight into, coping mechanisms and patterns of behaviour that are impacting on daily life. Through a collaborative process, we can find tools and techniques that are useful and supportive in your day to day life.
